Treatments and Advice I have been given

So on Monday night I shaved my head as you all know. And now starts the treatments and things to get the hair to grow back stronger and healthier.
So yesterday morning I started putting Tea Tree oil to kill anything left ( not likely ) and keep anything else off my head... and starting on the Sunday of each week I am going to change our treatment and try something new to see how it works... this coming Sunday I am going start using Olive Oil on my hair to see if it helps the itch and heal the bites that are there already... and help the hair to grow. I am going to do this with Lizzie as well and see what happens with her head too. I think this is going to be the fun part of the process of growing out our hair. I will keep you up todate as the weeks progress... and our progress pictures will come on Mondays as well.

  1. Have you gone through the whole house too? Treat the furniture, the carpets, teddy bears (in dryer for 30 mins on high heat), all sheets, pillows (dryer too).. etc. Those little bugs can live off that stuff for a long time after infestation has set in! Good luck.

  2. Good point Angele! I thankfully (knock on wood) have not had to deal with Lice at all, but have been told you will also want to clean all hairbrushes and combs by removing excess hair, and soaking them in a solution of water combined with head lice shampoo for at least half an hour. Rinse thoroughly before using again...Also wash all towels, wash cloths, and robes in hot water with detergent.

I have been told by others that sealing stuffed animals in plastic bags for two weeks, as this will suffocate any eggs or lice, may be necessary in the case of an extreme head lice infestation.

Hope those suckers stay away. Good luck!!
